Back in 1913, twenty-year-old Ford Mason wandered in search of luck and money. He was a door-to-door roofing salesman and spent spring, summer and early fall traveling in a horse and buggy over the winding roads of western New York State. In winter he was idle, since no one repaired barn roofs in cold weather.
